REC bags CBIP Award for Best Power Financing Company

REC Limited, the Navratna public sector enterprise, has been named the Best Power Financing Company by CBIP on 3rd January, 2018 in New Delhi. The award was received by Shri SK Gupta, Director (Technical), REC from Dr. Satya Pal Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.

Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC) is a public Infrastructure Finance Company in India’s power sector. The company finances and promotes rural electrification projects across India. The company provides loans to Central/ State Sector Power Utilities, State Electricity Boards, Rural Electric Cooperatives, NGOs and Private Power Developers.

REC has been awarded for its outstanding contribution to financing of power infrastructure across the entire value chain and spearheading speedy implementation of the Rural and Household Electrification programmes for inclusive growth in the country.



CBIP (Central Board of Irrigation and Power) is a premier institution, rendering dedicated services to professional organisations, engineers and individuals for the last about 80 years, resulting in accelerated development in the twin disciplines of Water Resources and Power in the country and abroad.

CBIP has grown into an eminent organization of international importance while serving the nation equally with great distinction. CBIP is Indian chapter for 10 international organisations related to Water resources & Power sectors.
